Library events announced for Spring and Summer

Crete Public Library's schedule of events through spring and summer includes children's activities, teen nights, adult events, book clubs, and family nights. Watch for more details on these events as well as upcoming details about July's Summer Reading Program. Contact the library with any questions or to RSVP/register where noted.

Solar Eclipse - Monday, April 8, 12-3 p.m.

• Drop in between noon and 3 p.m. for viewing the second partial solar eclipse in less than a year! There will be activities for the whole family, including sun spotters and a telescope with a special solar filter to safely view the eclipse, a citizen science activity to report on clouds and the weather, and the chance to make a (simulated!) Moon crater. This program is made possible through the NASA@My Library educational initiative.

Celebrate National Library Week (April 7-13) with events at the library.

Children's Programming (story times are until the end of the school semester)

• Toddler Story Time for ages 0-2 - Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
• Preschool Story Time for ages 3-5 - Thursdays at 10 a.m.
• Exploration Studio - Spashology for ages 5-11 - Tuesday, April 2 at 4 p.m.
• Art Lab - String Art for ages 5-11 - Tuesday, April 16 at 4 p.m.
• Stay and Play' time in May and June for toddlers and preschool age children. Staff will set out toys and the kids can play with their friends (same age groups, days, and times as story times above)

Teen Nights

• Improv - Thursday, April 25 at 5:30 p.m.
• DIY T-shirts - Thursday, May 23 at 5:30 p.m.

Family Nights

• Family Board Game Night - Tuesday, May 21, drop-in 5 -7 p.m.
• Family Puzzle Race - Tuesday, June 11, 5:30 - 8 p.m.
  • Registration $20 per family (contact the library - info below)
  • Pizza at 5:30, Race at 6
• Family Origami Program with Linda Stephens - Saturday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m.

Adult Events

• Craft Night - details TBA - Tuesday, July 16 at 6 p.m.

Book Clubs

• Code Yellow - first Thursdays, 12 p.m.
• Kaleidoscope - third Thursdays, 12 p.m.
• Flights of Fantasy, Thursday in May, TBA (every other month, last met March 14)
