Pool managers, Swim Team Coaches
The City of Crete is taking applications for Pool Managers and Swim Team Coaches in the Parks and Recreation Department (Wildwood Pool).
Pool Manager - The Swimming Pool Manager is responsible for daily operations and staffing of the municipal swimming pool, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained facility. This position reports directly to the Parks and Recreation Director and requires a strong understanding of water safety, facility management, and customer service. Must communicate effectively with city staff, lifeguards/swim instructors, pool cashiers, swim coaches and families, cashiers and the public. Minimum Qualifications: possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License; proficient in English; be at least 18 years of age; be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; pass criminal background check; have or be able to obtain a Pool Operator’s Certificate; have or be able to obtain CPR for Professional Rescuers Certification. Pool Assistant Manager - General functions: Under general supervision of the Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for helping manage daily operations of the swimming pool and ensuring facility safety, customer service, and staffing needs. Must communicate effectively with city staff, lifeguards/swim instructors, pool cashiers, swim coaches and families, cashiers and the public. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License; Proficient in English; Must be at least 18 years of age; Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Must pass criminal background check; Must have or be able to obtain a Pool Operator’s Certificate; Must have or be able to obtain CPR for Professional Rescuers Certification. Crete Recreation's Youth Swim Team is a well-established team with a strong connection to the families in Crete and surrounding neighborhoods. The team fosters a competitive environment which encourages families to commit to the season competitively while fostering a fun summer experience.
Swim Team Head Coach: Candidates must be energetic, experienced, reliable Head Coach to lead its summer swim team. Reports to the Parks and Recreation Director. Minimum Qualifications: minimum 1-year competitive swim coach/assistant coach experience; high school graduate required, current college student or college graduate preferred; must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug and background tests; strong organization and management skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills. Swim Team Assistant Coach: Candidates must be reliable and willing to assist the head coach and parks and recreation staff. Reports to the Head Coach and Parks and Recreation Director. Minimum Qualifications: possess or obtain CPR & Basic First Aid certification; proficient in English; must be at least 16 years of age; high school graduate preferred; have a valid driver’s license and pass drug and background tests; strong organization and management skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to complete safety training for swim coaches. Lifeguard and CPR/AED/First Aid training is scheduled for the week of May 18-22. See job descriptions for more information.
