Summer Reading Program activities start in July

Registration opens May 1; kickoff on June 29 with activities and food trucks

Once the participant is registered they may begin to log their reading. Bring in the log throughout May, June and July to receive prizes for each four hours read. Once they turn in a completed reading log, they will receive tickets for each hour they have read. Those tickets go into the grand prize drawing.

  • Summer Reading Kick-off on Saturday, June 29
    • activities from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Food trucks  from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. 
  • All Ages Pool Party at Wildwood Pool on Friday, Aug. 2 from 7 - 9 p.m.

Regular programming begins the week of July 8. See calendars for details. Thank you to program sponsors, Friends of the Crete Public Library, Nestle Purina, and Crete Area Medical Center for making it possible to provide these programs at no cost.

Storytime: stories, songs and rhymes

  • Ages 0-2: Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
  • Ages 3-5: Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Big Kids Club - Ages 4-11 - Tuesdays, 2-3 p.m.

  • Omaha Zoo - Adventure Begins at Home, July 30

Teen Nights will be held on Thursdays, 4-6 p.m.; registration is required.

Additional activities and reading challenges may be offered for adult patrons.

Summer Reading participants age 7 and under need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during Summer Reading activities. The Library encourages parents and guardians to arrange safe escort to and from programs. Library staff is not responsible for children before and after programs.
